Seltjarnarnes is an Icelandic township located within the Capital Region. It took on its current political form shortly after the Second World War and was formally created as a township in 1947. It is the smallest Icelandic township by land. At the end of the peninsula you can see Grótta and Gróttuviti , which is a small lighthouse at the north-westernmost point of Reykjavik, Iceland. Located on the Seltjarnarnes peninsula, it’s a perfect place to enjoy the outdoors, go for a walk or bikeride, or do some bird watching. To the left of that area is Gróttuvöllur golf course, one of many golf courses to be found all over Iceland.
