Faskrudsfjordur is a village in eastern Iceland. It has a population of 662 (as of 2011) and constitutes one of the villages composing the municipality of Fjarðabyggð. Fáskrúðsfjörður was home to a hospital founded to serve French fishermen.

The former hospital building has now been restored as a hotel and a museum named the “French Museum” (http://en.visitfjardabyggd.is/…/m…/details/the-french-museum) The village also has a great museum/gallery Auroras Iceland that exhibits photos and videos of the northern lights.
