Jökulsárlón is often thought to be the only glacial lagoon in Iceland, since it´s the most famous one. The truth is that almost all cascading/outlet glaciers in Iceland have their own glacial lagoon.

Here is one such glacier, the enormous Kvíárjökull, an outlet glacier from Öræfajökull, which is a part of Vatnajökull, the biggest glacier in Europe. Kvíárjökull and its glacial lagoon is located right by the ring road, approximately 30 km west of Jökulsárlón.
