Svínafellsjökull is an outlet glacier of the Vatnajökull glacier in Vatnajökull National Park. The glacier is very accessible from the ring road and tour companies offer various hiking and ice caving trips in and around the glacier. The glacier is next to Skaftafell, Austur-Skaftafellssysla, Iceland and is surrounded by some of Iceland´s tallest mountains, such as Hvannadalshnúkur and Hrútfjallstindar.
